On the last day of the autumn session of JK Assembly, the leader of opposition Omar Abdullah stayed out of the proceedings of the house.

The working president of National Conference who set the tune of the house yesterday by calling for the resolution of communal harmony of the state Saturday was seen missing from the opposition bench.

Throughout the autumn session of assembly, Omar was seen taking a backseat, allowing his party MLAs to take the centre-stage.

His two speeches during the ongoing session made it to banner headlines. First, when he spoke in defence of Er Rashid after he was manhandled by BJP MLAs and second, when he called for the resolution on the communal harmony. But the dual speeches apart, Omar was believed to corner the government on raging issues like Beef Ban Bill and other issues.
