SRINAGAR: A leopard attacked and killed a minor girl in the Khiram Sirigufwara area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Wednesday evening, officials said.
According to reports, the wild animal attacked the girl in the locality, killing her on the spot. She was identified as the daughter of Riyaz Ahmad Paswal, a resident of Khiram Gujjar Basti Galan in the Sirigufwara area.
The incident has triggered panic and fear among local residents. Soon after the attack, locals alerted the authorities, following which teams from the Wildlife Department rushed to the spot to assess the situation.
