Emphasising the dedication to sustainable development and prosperity, Sinha attributed the progress to the consistent focus on Jammu and Kashmir’s growth under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.

“This is not the first time. We celebrate it every year,” Sinha remarked, underscoring the significance of the annual event and the milestones achieved in enhancing prosperity across Jammu and Kashmir.

Reflecting on the recent completion of democratic processes, Sinha commended the increasing civic engagement of the people, interpreting it as a positive indication for elected governance. “This is a good indication to the elected government,” he stated, referencing a hopeful future for democratic participation in the region.

Sinha addressed the ongoing conversation surrounding the restoration of statehood, reaffirming that Jammu and Kashmir’s return to statehood will happen at an appropriate time, as promised by Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah in Parliament. He also discussed the delays in Panchayat Raj institution and urban local body elections, citing constitutional constraints as a contributing factor. Nevertheless, Sinha expressed optimism about the eventuality of these elections, which will enable enhanced local representation.

Highlighting economic strides, the Lieutenant Governor revealed plans for Jammu and Kashmir to attract investments exceeding one lakh crore rupees, a move expected to generate five lakh job opportunities for residents. He praised the JK Police and other groups for maintaining peace and stability, essential elements in fostering an environment conducive to economic growth.

As he reflected on transformative developments in areas such as Lal Chowk and Pulwama, Sinha called on participants to contribute their ideas for sustainable growth. With a focus on unity and collective effort, he urged all stakeholders to continue building on the foundation of progress achieved over the past five years.
