SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday extended greetings to the people of Jammu and Kashmir on the eve of Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW), calling for peace, harmony, compassion and mutual respect.
In separate messages, both leaders highlighted the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), describing them as a source of guidance on peace, equality, kindness and universal brotherhood.
Sinha urged people to reflect the Prophet’s teachings in their daily lives and contribute towards a more inclusive and harmonious society.
“On this sacred day, let us pledge to live by his values of love, kindness, and universal brotherhood and work together to foster a more harmonious, inclusive and united society,” the Lieutenant Governor said.
Abdullah also stressed the values of peace, compassion, brotherhood and mutual respect associated with the Prophet’s life and teachings.
The Chief Minister expressed hope that the occasion would strengthen social unity and harmony across Jammu and Kashmir. He also prayed for lasting peace, prosperity and the well-being of the people.
Both leaders urged people to observe Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi in accordance with the values associated with the occasion and wished the people of Jammu and Kashmir peace, happiness and prosperity.
