SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday condemned the militant attack in Kulgam in which a labourer from Chhattisgarh was killed and directed security forces to intensify operations against the attackers.
Sinha said he spoke with Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat and senior security officials following the attack and directed the forces to step up operations to eliminate the militants responsible.
JK Police and security forces have cordoned off the area and launched an operation to track down the perpetrators, the Lieutenant Governor said.
Another labourer from Chhattisgarh who was injured in the attack has been shifted to hospital for urgent medical treatment, Sinha said.
Expressing condolences to the family of the deceased, the Lieutenant Governor said the JK administration and the entire nation stood with the bereaved family and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured worker.
