SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday reviewed the ongoing conservation and development works at the Mubarak Mandi Heritage Complex in Jammu, and directed officials to expedite restoration efforts while maintaining quality standards.
During his visit to the heritage site, the Lieutenant Governor inspected the restoration work of the damaged wall and slab of the historic Gadadhar Ji Temple located adjacent to the complex. He instructed concerned authorities to ensure speedy completion of the repairs.
Officials, including Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar, Inspector General of Police Jammu Bhim Sen Tuti, and other senior officers, briefed the Lieutenant Governor on the status of various ongoing projects.
The Commissioner of Jammu Municipal Corporation informed him about the construction of a ramp-based multi-level parking facility within the heritage complex.
Sinha also visited the newly inaugurated library-cum-cafeteria at the site, where the Executive Director of the Mubarak Mandi Jammu Heritage Society (MMJHS) provided an update on pending restoration and revival works.
The ongoing projects include conservation of the Darbar Hall, Raja Ram Singh Palace, Raja Amar Singh Palace, and the Dogra Art Museum, among other heritage structures, which are expected to be completed in the coming months.
