SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has finalised arrangements for the Republic Day celebrations on January 26, 2026 across the Union Territory.
According to an order issued by the General Administration Department, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha will preside over the main function at MA Stadium in Jammu and take the salute, while Chief Minister Omar Abdullah will attend as the Chief Guest.
In Srinagar, Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary will take the salute. Other district-level functions will be presided over by senior officials, including Sakeena Masood in Anantnag, Javed Ahmed Rana in Poonch, and Javid Ahmad Dar in Baramulla.
The order further directs that District Development Council (DDC) Chairpersons will preside over Republic Day celebrations at the remaining district headquarters. At sub-divisional, tehsil, block, and municipal levels, Sub-Divisional Magistrates, Tehsildars, or the senior-most civil officers will take the salute, as designated by the respective Deputy Commissioners.
This arrangement ensures coordinated Republic Day observances throughout Jammu and Kashmir.
