Two persons were killed while as many were injured after a lightning struck at Ari village of frontier Poonch district on Thursday afternoon.
Reports said that two persons identified as Saida Begum (35) wife of Shabir Ahmad Bhat and Tanvira Bano (17) daughter of Mohammad Lateef Bakarwal residents of Ari were killed while Ghulam Hussain (73) son of Jia Bakarwal and Kousar Bano (12) daughter of Mohammad Latif were injured after the lightning struck at Doke at Funtawali Tawi today afternoon.
SSP Poonch Rajiv Pandey while confirming the killing of two persons and injuries to as many and said that the incident took place while the locals had taken the cattle to the forests’. The injured persons have been removed to SDH Mandi for immediate treatment, he added. (GNS)
