Officials of Legal Metrology Department (LMD) today conducted surprise inspection of various markets in Srinagar city.

Field executives of the Department under the supervision of Deputy Controller (Consumer Protection) Kashmir conducted inspection of markets in Hazratbal, Zakura and its adjoining areas wherein they booked a number of commercial establishments for selling substandard commodities like vegetables, milk, petrol, kriyana items etc.

During the market checking drive Rs 20,700 was realized as fine from violators.

Meanwhile, DDC Shopian convenes meet to address employee grievances.

District Development Commissioner Shopian, G M Dar, today convened a meeting to redress grievances of the district employees.

Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Chief Planning Officer, District Officers and other concerned were present in the meeting.

During the meeting, the DDC was apprised about the problems being faced by the employees. He gave them a patient hearing and listened to their issues and assured them of redressal of their genuine concerns.

He stressed upon the employees to work with added zeal and leave no stone unturned to ensure speedy disposal of the pending cases.
