A complete shutdown is being observed on Monday across the Kulgam district in wake of the second phase of the three-phase elections for Anantnag Lok Sabha seat.

All shops and other commercial establishments are closed in Kulgam district while public transport is off the roads. A skeletal movement of private transport was seen on the roads.

Eighteen candidates are in the fray for the Anantnag parliamentary constituency seat.

Authorities suspended the mobile Internet service in central and south Kashmir last night.

Joint Resistance Leadership –an amalgam of separatist bodies – has called for a shutdown today in district Kulgam.
