LOP Sharma Visits Border Villages, Assesses Shelling Damage

   

SRINAGAR: Leader of Opposition and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sunil Sharma on Saturday said the bravery, dedication, and sacrifice of soldiers are truly inspiring.

Sharma visited several areas along the Line of Control (LoC) to assess the damage caused by shelling.

He visited Fatehpur Kotha village along the R S Pura border, where he assessed the damage and interacted with residents to understand the challenges they faced due to the shelling.

As per a post on X, Sharma visited Saie village on the Suchetgarh border and engaged with locals affected by Pakistan’s shelling.

In another post, Sharma said he is committed to working with the government to develop a concrete and sustainable solution that addresses these issues and prioritises the safety and well-being of the people.

“Visited the border area of village Grahna Zero Line #Suchetgarh and listened to the concerns of residents impacted by Pakistan’s shelling. Committed to working with the government to develop a concrete and sustainable solution that addresses these issues and prioritises the safety and well-being of the people,” Sharma wrote.

“Visited the border area in village Chandu Chak, R S Pura, and heard the grievances of the residents affected by Pakistan’s shelling. Committed to finding a concrete and sustainable solution in consultation with the government to address these issues and ensure the safety of the people,” he added.

Sharma also met soldiers stationed at the Suchetgarh border. He said their service was admirable.

“Met the courageous soldiers at the Suchetgarh border, who selflessly guard our nation. Their bravery, dedication, and sacrifice are truly inspiring. We salute their unwavering commitment to our country’s safety and security. I’m honoured to have interacted with these heroes,” he posted.

Several villages along the Line of Control have suffered damage due to recent shelling by Pakistan. More than a dozen people have lost their lives in these incidents. (KNO)
