Chairman Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Mohammad Yasin Malik along with dozens of his party leaders were arrested on way to Shopian on Saturday.

According to a statement issued by JKLF, a delegation of JKLF led by Malik left for Shopian early morning but as soon as the delegation reached near Newa in Pulwama, police took Malik and the members of the delegation including Bashir  Ahmad Butt, Noor Mohammad kalwal, Shaukat Ahmad Bakhshi, Mohammad Yasin Bhat, Mushtaq Ahmed Khan, Mohammad Sideeq Shah, Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri, Prof. Javaid .Ghulam Rasool Hazari, Maqbool Taplu, Mohammad Hanif, Habeebullah, Mohi din Ahangar, Zahoor Ahmad Khan, Irshad Ahmed,imtiyaz Ahmad, Shahid Makaya, Ishtyaq Ahmed and Mohammad Amin under detention.

Before his arrest, Malik while talking to the members of the delegation has said he and his delegation wanted to share the grief of people of Shopian who have suffered a lot, particularly  after Gagren killings. Malik alleged that the mainstream politician enjoy every facility while separatist are being stopped, arrested, tortured and confined to their homes which clearly shows that Kashmir is run by police and other forces and it has become a police state.

JKLF spokesman while condemning this arrested said that these barricades and arrests show the ‘level of frustration’ the rulers are suffering from.
