Police arrested Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman, Mohammad Yasin Malik and Freedom Party Chairman, Shabir Ahmad Shah along with dozens of their associates in Srinagar and Pulwama areas, Friday, to prevent them from addressing public gatherings in Bandipora and Kulgam respectively.

Police also did not allow Hurriyat Conference (G) Chairman, Syed Ali Geelani to offer Friday prayers. Geelani had to visit Tral, but he was put under house arrest on Thursday.

Malik along with fifteen JKLF activists was arrested near Maler on the outskirts of Srinagar when he was going to address a big procession in Bandipore.

Shah along with separatist activists was arrested at Awantipora while they were proceeding towards Kulgam where he was scheduled to address a public gathering.
