SRINAGAR: Mamta Yadav, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, on Monday assumed charge as Director of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), Jammu and Kashmir, and called for greater use of digital platforms to improve public outreach and communication.
During an introductory interaction with officers and officials of the department, Yadav stressed the importance of transparency, accuracy and timely dissemination of information about government policies, development initiatives and public welfare programmes.
She underlined the department’s role in facilitating effective communication between the government and the public, emphasising the need to widen the reach of official information.
Highlighting changes in the media landscape, Yadav called for greater use of digital platforms and modern communication tools to strengthen the department’s outreach and public engagement.
Joint Director Information (Headquarters) Dr Zahoor Ahmad Raina, Deputy Director Information (PR&AV) Javid Ahmad Rather and other senior officers and officials attended the interaction.
Later, Yadav inspected various sections of the department and reviewed their functioning.
