_MG_3312Government Tuesday said that 41 persons have died and 544 were injured in wild animals attacks on humans in the last two, while 52 persons were wounded in Haveli constituency in Poonch district.

Giving details from years 2014 to 2016, minister for forests, Lal Singh informed the Lower House during Question Hour that in 2014-2015, 17 persons have died and 244 were injured in wild animal attacks on humans in the state.

Singh said 24 persons died and 300 were injured in 2015-2016 in the attacks.

The minister was replying to a written question of Congress MLA from Banihal, Vikar Rasool, in the assembly today.

Singh said that 22 persons have been injured in the wild animal attacks on humans in Banihal constituency.

In another written question of PDP MLA from Haveli in Poonch district, Shah Muhammad Tantray, the minister said that one person was killed and 52 persons have been injured in the wild animal attacks in Haveli constituency in the last five years.

The minister said that Rs 149.60 lakhs have been paid as compensation to these victims.

While Rs 119.3 lakhs compensation has paid to those who died and Rs 30.30 lakhs to the who were injured in the attacks. (KNS)
