An old man committed suicide by hanging himself in Islamabad while a minor died in road accident on Asturday,a police statement said.
“A 35 years old man Farooq Ahmad Najar son of Ghulam Nabi Najar resident of Akingam, Achabal, Islamabad committed suicide by hanging himself in his home. After performing medico-legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last heirs,” the statement said adding that police has registered a case in this regard.
Meanwhile a minor died while four others were injured in different road accidents in South Kashmir.
“A Maruti car bearing registration number JK13/5262 hit four pedestrians at Checki Raimbir Pora, D.H Pora Kulgam. In this accident, a minor girl Madiya Altaf daughter of Mohammad Altaf Mir died on spot while Mst Bakshi wife of Bashir Ahmad Rather, Mst Mehmooda daughter of Bashir Ahmed Rahter and Nissar Ahmed Rather son of Bashir Ahmed residents of Checki Raimbair Pora were injured. All the injured were shifted to hospital for treatment,” the statements said.
A motorcycle bearing registration number JK03/7495 hit and injured a pedestrian Suhail Ahmad Dar son of Abdul Rashid resident of Tulkhan at Jablipora, Bijbehara. The injured was shifted to hospital for treatment.
A Tavera vehicle bearing registration number JK03C/7610 hit and injured a pedestrian Himayatah Naikoo son of Gulzar Ahmed Naikoo resident of Kanelwan at Bunpora Kanelwan, Bijbehara. The injured was shifted to hospital for treatment.
The statement also said that illicit liquor was recovered in Baramulla.
“On a specific information Police Post Mirgund recovered 30 bottles of illicit liquor in the house of Jalal Din Wani son of Ama Wani resident of Singhpora, Pattan. He was arrested on the spot and a case has been registered against him in police station Pattan,” the statement said.
