SRINAGAR: A 60-year-old man died after falling from a walnut tree at his residence in the Kralapathri area of Khansahib in Budgam district on Monday, officials said.
The deceased, identified as Ghulam Hassan Chopan, son of Ghulam Rasool Chopan, sustained multiple injuries after falling from the tree, officials said.
An official said Chopan was initially taken to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Khansahib, from where he was referred to SMHS Hospital in Srinagar for specialised treatment.
However, he succumbed to his injuries at the hospital, the official said.
Police have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated further proceedings. (KNO)
