SRINAGAR: A man was injured after being attacked by a wild bear in the Soinad-Dedarpora area of Tral in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Wednesday.
The victim has been identified as Zubair Ahmad Gujjar, a resident of Soinad-Dedarpora.
Reports said the bear attacked him while he was working in a field, leaving him injured before locals rushed to his rescue.
The injured man was shifted to hospital, where he is undergoing treatment.
Locals have expressed concern over the increasing frequency of such incidents and urged the Wildlife Department to take effective measures to prevent further attacks and mitigate human–wildlife conflict in the area. (KNT)
