Masked men tried to abduct sibling

Unidentified masked men made an unsuccessful attempt to abduct the two brothers in Jandhwal area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Thursday when they were busy working in the paddy field.

 The masked men according to police assaulted and tried to strangulate them and before fleeing from the spot snatched their cash and two mobile phones.

The two brothers have been identified as Abdul Qayoom and Muhammad Amin sons of Muhammad Shaban Shiekh.

The incident created panic in the area while large number of people rushed towards paddy fields in search of the assailants.

Station House Officer Shopian, Raja Muzafar said that the assailants tried to abduct the duo and when they raised alarm, the abductors snatched their two mobiles and an amount of Rs 4200.

 “We have started the investigation and the assailants would be booked soon,” he said. (CNS)
