Pakistan High Commissioner in New Delhi hosted dinner for different separatist leaders of Kashmir on Wednesday evening during which Pakistan High Commissioner Abdul Basit had informal interaction with the leaders. Only mainstream leader from Kashmir present on the occasion was National Democratic Front Chairman Abdul Rashid Kabli.

“There was an informal interaction between different leaders on varied subjects and I myself met Pak High Commissioner and other separatist leaders,” Kabli told CNS adding that some Hurriyat leaders may meet Pak High Commissioner on Thursday evening.

A separatist leader said that they discussed different issues with some top Pakistan officials. Pakistan High Commissioner talked to Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Nayeem Ahmed Khan and others and during their meeting Kashmir issue was discussed,” he said.

Pak High Commissioner inquired about the health condition of Geelani. Female separatist leader Zamrooda Habib said that Pak High Commissioner interacted with several separatist leaders including Syed Ali Geelani. “Syed Ali Geelani stressed that Pakistan should play an active role with respect to Kashmir issue,” she said.

Meanwhile, according to a statement, a delegation of the All Parties Hurriyet Conference led by its Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq met Pakistan High Commissioner to India, Abdul Basit, in New Delhi and apprised him of the current situation in Kashmir.

 The APHC statement said that they APHC called for settlement of all disputes between Pakistan and India including the Kashmir through result-oriented and meaningful dialogue.

 Abdul Basit, on the occasion, conveyed a special message from Prime Minister of Pakistan, Nawaz Sharif to the people of Kashmir through Mirwaiz Umar Farooq. Nawaz Sharif in his message said that the settlement of the Kashmir dispute as per aspirations of the people of Kashmir was the national policy of Pakistan.
