Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chief and MP South Kashmir, Mehbooba Mufti, reached Srinagar from Union capital early Thursday. She was in New Delhi to attend the Parliament session.
Sources said that Mehbooba spent very less time at her Fairview residence before she drove to Chenab valley for membership drive.
Notably, Mehbooba refused to take oath of office and secrecy as CM of J&K post demise of former CM and her father Mufti Mohammad Sayeed on January 07.
She asked BJP led union government to announce J&K specific CMBs before she decided to continue the alliance.
Mufti Mohammad Sayeed had stitched an alliance with right wing Hindu nationalist BJP last March after reaching to an agreement after two months of “intense deliberations” which resulted in Agenda of Alliance.
Party sources said that Mehbooba shall be holding membership drive in Doda, Baderwah and Kishtwar in next two days.
Meanwhile, sources further added, “team of senior PDP leaders” are camping in New Delhi.” The sources, however, refused to divulge further details.
