According to the latest weather update issued by the MeT Centre, October 17 may witness brief spells of light rain at a few places, while conditions are expected to remain mainly dry from October 18 to 23.

A change in weather conditions is likely on October 24 and 25, when generally cloudy skies, light rain at scattered places and light snowfall over higher reaches are expected. Thunderstorms and gusty winds may also occur at a few places during this period.

The forecast indicates a temporary spell of wet weather before conditions are expected to turn generally dry again from October 26 to 28.

The expected dry spell is likely to provide farmers with an opportunity to continue harvesting and other agricultural operations before the possibility of rain and snowfall towards the end of the month.

The MeT Centre has advised people to remain updated on weather forecasts, particularly ahead of the expected change in conditions over the weekend of October 24 and 25.
