SRINAGAR: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has issued a weather forecast for Jammu and Kashmir covering the period from May 23 to May 31. From May 23 to May 26, the weather is expected to remain generally hot and dry, with the possibility of a brief spell of light rain at isolated locations, particularly in the late afternoon. Between May 27 and May 31, similar hot and dry conditions are likely to continue, but there is a possibility of light rain or thundershowers at scattered to many places across the region.
A temperature advisory has also been issued. In the Kashmir Division, maximum temperatures are expected to rise by 1 to 2 degrees Celsius until May 23, with a chance of heatwave conditions at isolated places. A subsequent drop of 2 to 3 degrees Celsius is expected after May 23. In the Jammu Division, maximum temperatures may increase by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius until May 26, with heatwave conditions likely at isolated locations. Additionally, the possibility of thunder or gusty winds at isolated places during the late afternoon hours cannot be ruled out.
