SRINAGAR: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has approved the promotion of nine Indian Police Service (IPS) officers of the Jammu and Kashmir segment of the AGMUT cadre to the Selection Grade, following the recommendations of the Screening Committee.
According to an official order, the promotions to Selection Grade (Level 13 of the pay matrix) will take effect from January 1, 2026. The officers promoted include Ashish Kumar Mishra, Nagpure Amod Ashok, Gurinder Pal Singh, Altaf Ahmed Shah, Bakar Hussain Samoon, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, Ranjit Singh Samyal and Mohammad Yaseen Kichloo.
The order further stated that Chandan Kohli, who is presently on central deputation, has been granted a proforma promotion.
