SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday released the fourth edition of Kartavya Marg, the annual in-house magazine published by the Shri Kailakh Jyotish and Vedic Sansthan Trust, at Lok Bhawan.
Congratulating the editorial team and those associated with the publication, the Lieutenant Governor lauded the Trust for its sustained efforts in promoting India’s ancient knowledge traditions, folk culture, astrology and Vedic sciences, while fostering moral awareness and cultural pride in society.
Addressing the gathering, Sinha said the comprehensive knowledge system rooted in the Vedas offers a holistic worldview and can provide effective solutions to contemporary challenges. He observed that ancient texts such as the Vedas and Upanishads contain a wealth of knowledge spanning mathematics, medicine, physics, botany, chemistry, arts and the humanities, and remain deeply relevant in building a resilient society.
The Lieutenant Governor underlined the role of initiatives like Kartavya Marg in reconnecting the younger generation with India’s traditions and cultural heritage, stressing the need to imbibe ancient values and ideals in present-day life. He added that Indian culture, ethics and values help society navigate complex challenges while promoting harmony and oneness.
He further said that India’s ancient knowledge systems offer a blueprint for a successful modern world, providing a roadmap for sustainable development and innovation, and a holistic framework to address issues such as climate change and ensure a sustainable future.
Earlier, Mahant Rohit Shastri, President of the Shri Kailakh Jyotish and Vedic Sansthan Trust, said the annual publication is brought out in Hindi, Sanskrit, English and Dogri to reach readers across diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
Several members of the Trust, including Prof Sharat Sharma, Vishav Gupta, Rajeev Sharma, Vinay Agrawal, Vinay Jamwal, Nigam Gupta, Rakesh Gandotra, Naresh Raina, Lucky Sharma, Prabodh Sharma, M.L. Verma, Vivek Arya, Yoginder Singh and Satish Jandyal, were present at the event.
