Congress Man, Mir Gulam Muhammad Poonchi aka Mir Poonchi breathed his last Friday morning in Jammu.
He was elder brother of Deputy Chairman J&K Legislative Council, Mir Jehangir.
Veteran politician, Mir Poonchi was MP in Indira Ghandhi ear, represented Poonch in state legislature and later rising to a ministerial post as well.
“Mir Poonchi had made tremendous contribution to the progress of the Congress Party in the State. He had also made contribution to the development of the J&K State as a member of the Parliament of India,” former MP Saif Ud Din Soz said in a statement.
