Taking a strong exception to the recent statement of National Conference, Jammu and Kashmir Awami Majlis Amal (AMA) Sunday accused NC of bartering the aspirations and wishes of people of Kashmir in lieu of power and political gains.
A spokesman of AMA told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that the people of Kashmir have themselves witnessed the historical events and the people here have the full knowledge of the events when NC betrayed them at all them levels. “It was Moulana Mohammad Yusuf Shah who introduced Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah to the political world of the state and the history bears witness of the fact that the footsteps of Mirwaiz Yusuf Shah have always been followed by the people here at large.”
The AMA spokesman stated that the recent statement of NC wherein it was mentioned that Moulana Mohammad Yusuf Shah embraced Sheikh in Pakistan for the political motive is ‘absurd and politically incorrect’. “It was only because Moulana Mohammad Yusuf Shah believed that Sheikh’s visit to Pakistan was aimed at resolution of Kashmir dispute but Sheikh had other plans in mind.”
The spokesman further stated that the Mirwaiz family of Kashmir has always represented the aspirations of the people of Kashmir in its true perspective and that it has rendered innumerous sacrifices for the freedom of Kashmir.
The spokesman added that NC has always been identified as power hungry party and it always has bartered the aspirations of the people here for the petty political gains.
