Hurriyat Conference (M) Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq led congregational in-absentia funeral prayers for the deceased Pakistani prisoner Sanauallah at historical Jamia Masjid here on Friday.
Condemning the brutal assault on Sanullah in the Jammu prison which led to his death, Mirwaiz demanded impartial probe into the incident and stern punishment for the guilty. He said both the countries should release the political prisoners lodged in their jails on basic humanitarian grounds.
He said the struggle which was started by Mahajr-e-Milat Moulvi Yousuf Shah, then carried forward by Shaheed-e-Millat Mirwaiz Moulvi Farooq, Khwaja Abdul Gani Lone, and thousands of other martyrs of Kashmir continues with full zeal and zest. He said martyrdom of Afzal Guru has re-energized the struggle.
Terming May 21 as Kashmir’s National day, he appealed people to observe complete strike so as to remember the great sacrifices offered by the Kashmiri leaders and people on this day. He said a huge remembrance rally would be organized on this day and people would also demand mortal remains of Maqbool Bhat and Afzal Guru.
The Hurriyat (M) chairman also spelled out Hafta Shouda (martyrdom week) programme which would run pre-cursor to the May 21 event.

May 16: Thursday: The day will begin at 10 am with the recitation of Quran Sharief at
Party headquarter and District Headquarters followed by the special prayers for
Shaheed-e-Millat and other Martyrs. Thereafter Anjuman-e-Auqaf Jamia Masjid would organize a Husna-e-Qirat Competition at Mirwaiz Manzil.
May 17 Friday: Awami Action Committee would organize a Relief Camp free medical check-up of patients and would distribute free of cost medicines among the needy. at historic Jamia Masjid Srinagar. The doctors would conduct
May 18 Saturday: At 10: 30 am Anjuman-e-Nusrat-ul-Islam would hold a seminar at the auditorium of Islamia High School, Rajouri Kadal under the title; of Religion in building Personality”
On the same day Anjuman-e-Nusrat-ul-Islam Trust Islamabad (Anantnag) would hold a special meeting to pay tributes to Shaheed-e-Millat. A special publication dedicated to Shaheed-e-Millat would also be issued on the same day.
May 20 Monday: Awami Action Committee would organize a big impressive Rally of its workers
May 21 Tuesday: A complete strike would be observed to remember Shaheed-e-Millat Moulvi Mohammad Farooq (RA), Martyrs of Hawal, Martyr Abdul Gani Lone (RA), and all the martyrs of Kashmir who have laid their life for the cause till date. Following the Zuhar Nimaz, congregational fath-e-Khwani would be held soon afterwards Awami Action Committee would organize a huge freedom struggle to its logical conclusion.
On the occasion, a demand would be put forward to return back the mortal remains of martyr Maqbool Bhatt and Afzal guru. Dring the public rally people would take an oath to take forward the mission of the martyrs.
May 22: Wednesday: On this day special prayer session would be held at Harray Kral pora to pay tributes to Khawaja Abdul Gani Lone and thousands of other martyrs of the Kashmir struggle
