Authorities Friday morning placed Hurriyat Conference (m) chairperson under house detention.
The Hurriyat amalgam spokesperson said that Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was detained at his Nigeen Lake view residence early this morning.
“Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was detained in his home early this morning,” he said.
Mirwaiz Umar Farooq leads Friday congregational prayers at historic Jamia Masjid in Old city.
