MLA Sheikh Khursheed, Party Delegation Meet Affected Families Near LoC

   

SRINAGAR: A delegation from the Awami Itehad Party (AIP), led by Langate MLA Sheikh Khursheed, on Sunday visited several villages along the Line of Control (LoC) in Uri and Kupwara to assess the situation following recent cross-border shelling.

Accompanied by District Development Council (DDC) Tujjar Muzaffar Ahmad Dar and MP Office Incharge Baramulla Ajaz Lone, the team toured the affected villages of Salamabad, Gingle, Paranpillan, Lagama, Bandi, Uri, and various rehabilitation centres where displaced residents have taken temporary shelter.

During the visit, MLA Sheikh Khursheed expressed deep concern over the plight of residents and emphasised the urgent need for comprehensive relief, rehabilitation, and healthcare services. The AIP delegation interacted with affected families, heard their grievances, and assured them of the party’s continued support.

In a parallel visit, Senior AIP Leader and Party Spokesperson Peerzada Firdouse Ahmad Baba visited shelling-affected areas in Kupwara district. He met with impacted families and assessed the damage caused by recent hostilities.

Baba called on the administration to ensure the safety of civilians residing in border areas and expedite relief efforts to mitigate their suffering.
