Scores of relatives of Shaheena who they claim was ‘murdered’ by her in-laws held massive protests here in Lal Chowk against her husband and in-laws.
The relatives of ‘murdered’ Shaheena alleged that her husband Rafiq Ahmad Panzoo and his family killed him in her home at Umerher, Buchpora Soura.
The mysterious death of a mother of three- year old baby said that body of Shaheena daughter of Ghulam Mustafa Mahajan of Soura bore marks of violence on face and neck.
They said Shaheena had not been feeling well for the past few days but that her husband didn’t mind to take her for medical consultation nor allowed her family to come to her rescue.
“Yesterday when she was taken to SKIMS Soura, doctors declared her brought dead,” the bereaved relatives while protesting said, adding the woman in 30s was “murdered”. “This is a typical case of murder as her husband and in-laws had strained relations with Shaheena. Her husband would never care about his wife or daughter,” the mourners said.
“He would never support his wife financially or morally but ask her to contact his brother or other in- laws for help,” Shaheena’s cousin Ashfaq Mahajan told Kashmir Life while protesting the alleged crime.
The protesting family and her relatives said that since her marriage in 2007, Shaheena was facing terrible times as her husband was “least bothered about her”.
