SRINAGAR: Member of Parliament from Srinagar, Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi, on Thursday appealed to Baramulla MP Engineer Rashid not to step away from politics, saying that difficult times require patience, determination and resilience.
Speaking to reporters, Ruhullah said he had heard Engineer Rashid’s recent emotional remarks at a condolence gathering, where he had hinted at withdrawing from electoral politics.
He said the decision was personal, but added that those in public life, particularly in times of hardship, should remain committed rather than give up under pressure.
Ruhullah said faith encourages steadfastness in the face of difficulties, noting that public life often subjects individuals to personal and political challenges.
He added that Engineer Rashid had faced significant hardships, including family-related issues and difficult circumstances, yet had continued his political journey with dignity.
Without naming anyone, he said some individuals leave public life due to pressure or personal considerations, but maintained that Rashid’s political career had reflected resilience.
Urging the Baramulla MP to continue his political struggle, Ruhullah said he should remain firm and not quit politics. (JKNS)
