SRINAGAR: The District Magistrate of Poonch issued an order on Sunday for the annual opening of the Mughal Road starting from Monday onwards. This decision comes in light of the clearance of snow accumulation and landslides along the route.

The order states, “In view of the clearance of snow accumulation and landslides from KM 19 (Dogrian) to KM 43 (Peer Ki Gali) as reported by the Chief Engineer, Mughal Road Wing, and Executive Engineer, Mechanical Engineering Division, Rajouri-Poonch, one-way traffic movement is permitted on the Mughal Road from Bufffliaz to Peer Ki Gali effective from 08-04-2024,” reads an order.

Additionally, it mandates the deployment of sufficient personnel by the Senior Superintendent of Police Poonch, Sub Divisional Magistrate Surankote, and Deputy Superintendent of Police Traffic Rajouri-Poonch at Behramgalla, Bufffliaz, and Poshana Checkposts to ensure the smooth flow of vehicles in strict adherence to this order.
