A Muharram procession was Tuesday taken out in Khati Darwaza Rainawari with scores of devotees participating in it.
As per a local news agency, CNS, Hurriyat leader and Islamic scholar Moulana Abbas Ansari, Aga Syed Hassan, Advocate Zahid Ali, Ghulam Nabi Zaki, Khurshid Ahmed Qanongo, Hakim Abdul Rashid, Mushtaq Ahmed Sofi and others participated in the procession.
The participants while displaying the Shia-Sunni spirit reiterated that the nefarious designs of vested interests will always fail till both communities follow the spirit of unity.
The mourners while castigating the government for imposing ban on Ashoora processions in the City said that it is unfortunate that the government doesn’t allow us to take out Muharram processions.
