Protests In Budgam Against Lack of Muharram Arrangements

KL Report

Hundreds of people in Zorigund hamlet of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district staged a protest against district administration for lack of arrangements during the days of Muharram.

The protestors alleged that “scores of hamlets are reeling under darkness during these holy days while district administration has made no arrangements to cater the needs of people visiting Imam Barahs.”

“There is no electricity and drinking water. The administration has failed to supply timber in time and as a result the mourners during these days of Muharram are suffering,” they said.

A district official told a local news agency, CNS, that all necessary arrangements have been made for the mourners and if some people are facing problems they should contact district administration.
