The provincial president of ruling National Conference, Nasir Aslam Wani’s Rajbagh residence was gutted in a devastating fire during the intervening night of August 2 and 3, police said.
Nasir, and all his family members were present but they escaped unhurt, police added.
Sources said that the fire appeared at around 2 am, and it spread over the whole house very rapidly and devastated its two stories completely and damaged the ground story.
The men and machinery of Fire and emergency services had to struggle for more than three hours to kill the flames.
Police said that the cause of fire and the cost of the property damaged are being ascertained.
