Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI), J&K has described the court decision banning Jama’at-e-Islami Bangladesh a great blow to the democracy and claimed it amounts to hurting the sentiments of millions of people associated with in and outside Bangladesh.

“This declaration of terming Jama’at as illegal is a clear denial of the fact that Islam is a complete code of life. The petitioner Bangladesh Tariqat Federation has proved itself to be anti-Islamic organization working at the behest of the enemies of Islam,” Jama’at Spokesman Advocate Zahid Ali said in a statement to a local news agency, KNS.

“The court decision in the holy month of Ramadan amounts to desecration of the Quran, the Book of Allah revealed in this month. This decision is contempt of Allah, His all messengers including the last messenger Prophet Muhammad (saw) and that of the Ummah. How can any court ban the activities of a political party believing in the implementation of the Islamic system of life in a Muslim-dominated country? Either these judges have to deny the fact that the people in this country do believe in Islam or openly admit that they are pronouncing the judgment to please the anti-Islamic forces and world powers?” he added.

The Jama’at while expressing deep anguish and sorrow over this ‘anti democratic’ decision of declaring Bangladesh Jama’at as illegal, strongly condemns the forces who are bent upon vitiating the atmosphere in a Muslim-dominated poverty-hit country by playing with their crucial sentiments.
