Jammu and Kashmir National Conference on Tuesday said the people of the state are the primary party to the issue of J& K. NC General secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar with other senior party leaders during worker’s conventions at Tral.

“Our party leadership has maintained that the issue of our state is political in nature that can only be solved through time-bound and result-oriented dialogue with all the stakeholders.

Seeing the problem of Kashmir through the prism of security has failed to lead the successive governments at center to a proper understanding of issues on the ground.

The condition in Kashmir cannot be improved by the use of excessive force; shutting one’s eyes to the issue won’t help either. The drawn-out conflict has created vested interests in the state, trapping the valley in an unending cycle of death and destruction. National Conference has always been a votary of dialogue between the Centre and the varied stakeholders in the state,” adding, “ our party has been demanding the restoration of autonomy to the state as it existed before 1953.” The NC provincial president Nasir Aslam Wani while addressing the worker’s conventions said that the state was plagued with dire development deficit and unaccountability.

“ Having a popularly elected government is the basic and the absolute right of people. The need of the hours calls for having a democratically elected government in the state. The challenges our state is facing need a strong-willed government to tackle with; it is the NC under the leadership of Omar Sahib that boasts a panacea for the state’s problems. Not even a single Watt of electricity was added to the pool of state’s energy sector since the BJP- PDP had their hands on the reins of power.”

Among others, south zone President Dr Bashir Veeri, Peer Muhammad Hussain, Ghulam Mohi Ud Din Mir, Muhammad Ashraf Bhat, Javaid Rahim Bhat, minority wing organizer Jagjeet Singh Azad also addressed the workers and impressed upon them to increase their engagement with the public.
