National Conference (NC) on Monday reiterated its demand of holding a CBI inquiry or a judicial probe by the sitting Supreme Court judge into the ‘fund scam’ allegedly involving former Army Chief and Agriculture Minister Ghulam Hassan Mir. The ruling party has also sought a probe in the killing of youth during 2010 agitation and asked Government of India to find out who was responsible for the killings.

Party sources told KNS that NC has taken the matter very serious and does not want to see the matter die down so easily. The party has also passed a resolution on this regard asking central government to get the matter investigated properly.

Meanwhile the party held a meeting on Monday which was presided over by provincial president Nasir Aslam Wani in which a resolution regarding the ‘scam’ was passed.

“A unanimous resolution was passed in the meeting urging the central government to investigate by a sitting Judge of Honb’le supreme court or by CBI the involvement of former Army chief in destabilizing the state government headed by Omar Abdullah in 2010,” reads the statement of the party issued to KNS.

The party sources further said that the national conference has also sought an inquiry into Agriculture Minister Gh. Hassan Mir’s role in the ‘scam’.

“This has now become clear as published in Indian Express that there was a conspiracy to destabilize the state govt. and some two persons within and outside state was involved in the said conspiracy. As such there should be independent probe so that the people of the state will come to know the agencies that were responsible for the killing of youth during 2010.” reads the statement.
