SRINAGAR: National Conference (NC) leader Sajad Kichloo has won the second Rajya Sabha seat from Jammu and Kashmir, securing 56 votes, following the earlier victory of Choudhary Mohammad Ramzan, officials announced on Friday.
For the second seat, NC’s Sajjad Kitchloo was fighting against Rakesh Mahajan of the BJP.
Voting, which concluded earlier with 85 MLAs casting their ballots, saw the NC maintain its strong advantage in the Assembly, ensuring a smooth path for Kichloo’s election.
The party’s numerical strength guarantees it is on track to win three of the four seats, while the BJP is expected to secure one.
Meanwhile, counting for the remaining seats is underway.
