SRINAGAR

Hurriyat Conference (M) Monday said expressed serious reservations over the creation of new administrative units in the state.

Hurriyat said the substantial difference in the number of administrative units between Jammu and Srinagar is the continuation of the policy of discrimination against Kashmiri’s. “It is also an effort to weaken the Muslim character of the state so as to get the political and administrative leverage,” Hurriyat statement said.

Asserting that Hurriyat was not against the creation of new administrative units, the statement said the way the interests of Kashmir valley have been over looked, it only seems that it was done as a part of conspiracy. “The discrimination in the administrative units between two parts of the state would have far fetching dire consequences for Kashmiri people in the future.”

The Hurriyat (M) statement said, “Kashmiri’s were matured enough to understand the thinking behind the creation of new administrative units and the results they would bear in the future course of time.”
