THREATENED:Papa Kishtwari presently facing murder charges for allegdly murdering a Nishat resident Ali Muhammad Mir in 1996, had allegdly threatned his son Zahoor Ahmad. Kishtawari is has been acussed of threating his victims family in the past as well. Kistwari is one of the notourious govemrnet gunmen in Kahsmir.

INJURED: Seema Bano, 13, Azad Ahmad Kumar, 9, and Faizan Ahmad Kumhar, 7, were injured in a littered explosion blast at Nagri Hatmulla. They all live at Kumhar Mohalla , Nagri. Police said that the low intensity explosive device was a grenade lying in the field which exploded when the children fiddled with it.

SEIZED: The security agencies have seized two mobile phones from Parveena, a resident of Kotli, PaK, at Chakkan-de-bagh, on LoC, when she was returning home after visiting her relatives in Mendhar. The mobile phones were seized but Parveen was allowed to go home in PaK. This week about 81 passengers crossed sides in Poonch.

KILLED: Tauseef Ahmed, 11, a resident of Beoli was hit by a bullet of 12 bore gun on his head leading to his death on spot. Police said they have seized all the 12 bore guns in the area and all the gun holders were being quizzed to identify the accused. They added it couldn’t be ascertained immediately whether it was an accidental or deliberate gun fire.

SANCTIONED:Centre has sanctioned four more tourism infrastructure developmental projects of Rs 16.42 crores for the state, in addition to the 20 projects costing Rs 97.37 crores sanctioned during last financial year. It was revealed in a high level meet of Tourism department held under the chairmanship of Tourism Minister, Ghulam Ahmed Mir. The meeting was convened to review the physical and financial status of ongoing centrally sponsored tourism.

ATTACKED: Neetu, daughter of Darshan Lal of Galwade Chak, Jammu was attacked with a sharp edged weapon by a man who barged into her house causing serious injuries to her. A case has been registered at Gajansoo police post and manhunt has been launched to arrest the accused who is still at large.

ALLEGED: Recently the residents of Shivpora protested aginst the management of missionary school inside Badamibagh cantonment for converting its students to Christianity. The missionary school is run by an NGO. Police said there was no report of any casualties and the investigation is on.

DEFUSED:A rocket launcher shell was defused by a bomb disposal squad in Kupwara. The shell was found lying in an orchard of Ghulam Mohammed Wani at Sogam. The shell was defused at the site without causing any harm to anyone.

DIRECTED:State high court directed the state counsel to file a comprehensive report on the status of investigation into the case of Shoukat Ahmed Paul, a resident of Lawapora.Paul’s mother had filed a petition in the High Court stating that her son is in Army custody while they [Army] have reportedly said he is a militant who was planning suicide attack in Srinagar.

SELECTED: Mehraj-ud-Din Wadoo, Arun Malhotra, Ishfaq Ahmed and Jhony Sharma, four football players of the state have been selected for the Sher-i- Kashmir sports award. Three of them have represented reputed clubs across India and Jhony Sharma is playing for J&K Bank Football. They will be awarded with a cash of Rs 25,000 and Rs 20,000 each on April 16, 2013.

SUCCUMBED: Sham Singh, army-man of 21 RR died and at least five others got injured after an accidental blast inside a camp in Zachaldar Kupwara. Singh was shifted to Army base hospital but he succumbed. The officials said that a group of army-men were assembling the weapons needed during the operation when a grenade exploded accidentally.

BUSTED: Handwara police in a joint search operation with 21 RRbusted a hide-out in Moldari forests, Handwara, and recovered arms and ammunition including six AK rifles, nine RPG grenades/rounds, 36 RPG Booster, 19 AK magazines, 25 rounds of AK ammunition, 500 gms of RDX, 119 UBGL rounds and two disposal rocket launchers.

COMMITTED: A 17 years old girl committed suicide by consuming a poisonous substance at her residence at Boniyar, Baramulla. She was shifted to Boniyar’s Primary Health Centre from where she was referred to the district hospital where she died. Baramulla police have registered a case and are investigating in the matter.

HIT:Tehmeena Javid, 5, was hit and injured by a tata sumo bearing registration number JK01L/7361. Tehmeena is a resident of Lassipora, Kupwara. She after being hit by a sumo was shifted to SKIMS Soura for the treatment.

VISITED:K Rajinder, Director General (DG) of Prison made a maiden visit to Central Jail, Srinagar. The jail authorities presented guard of honour to the dignitary on the occasion. DG interacted with the jail inmates and enquired about the facilities being provided to them. He also inspected Jail hospital and assured that a fresh dental chair and other laboratory equipments shall be made available.
