ORDERED:

State revenue department has ordered the placement of 53 Naib Tehsildars as in-charge Tehsildars and 56 NaibTehsildars are asked to look after the work of Tehsildar. The decisions are taken to ensure full functioning of newly formed administrative units. The department has approved the road map framed for the operationalization of new administrative units including tehsils for which it gave a time frame of 15 days for posting of Tehsildars.

PRESENTED:

N N Vohra and Omar Abdullah presented state awards and chief minister’s gold medals to as many as 71 recipients in different categories for the years 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014 at the investiture ceremony organized at SKICC. The ceremony was organised by General Administration department.

SUBMITTED:

The one-man panel probing killing of four persons in South Kashmir’s Shopian district on September 7 last year has indicted the paramilitary CRPF for killing three unarmed civilians while declaring the fourth one as a militant.  Justice (retd) ML Koul—tasked to probe the killings in Gagren area of Shopian on September 7, 2013—submitted his report to the Chief Minister’s Secretariat last Wednesday. The killings took place on the day when music conductor Zubin Mehta held a concert at Shalimar Garden.

DIRECTED:

Chief Minister directed for taking on board the two Vice Chancellors of Universities of Kashmir and Jammu for finalizing the Autonomous status of Islamia College, Srinagar and Government College for Women, Parade Jammu. He said the issues should be sorted out in the meeting to be chaired by Higher Education Minister. The CM asked the higher authorities to draft Act for the two Cluster Universities before Law Department is asked to vet the same.

DAMAGED:

Massive rain and cloud burst in the upper reaches of Gharota, Jammu created havoc with flood in Mishriwalla, Kanha Chak, Marh besides parts of Akhnoor, Jammu, causing extensive damage to at least a dozen structures including three poultry farms and four culverts, roads and electric poles. At least eight cattle were washed away while flood water entered many houses and shops causing extensive damage to the property of the people.

ORDERED:

State High Court directed seven stone crushers and hot mix plants in North Kashmir to close down their operations for violating pollution and other norms. The Deputy Commissioners of respective Districts are directed to ensure immediate compliance of this order and file report within one week.

SEIZED:

A joint team of 10 Rashtriya Rifles, SOG and Doda police recovered a consignment of arms and explosives from Bean Bharath in Doda. The recoveries included 205 AK rounds, one pistol, two country made guns, two grenades, two HE 36 grenades, six launchers shells, 42 pistol rounds, 41 SLR rounds, 55 detonators, 10 Pika rounds, one binocular of Pika rifles, one RDX box, three magazines, two pistol magazines and two SLR magazines. Police party in the operation was supervised by SSP Doda Mohammad Sharief Chouhan.

DIRECTED:

The state court directed the former Deputy Commissioner Islamabad to conclude the report in a land acquisition case within two weeks and file the report before the court regarding compensation claim of the petitioner whose land has been acquired by Pahalgam Development Authority. The Court has also directed the present DC Islamabad to provide all documents pertaining to the case to Biswas so as to ensure him to complete the report. The petitioner also submits that he also moved an application to collector Islamabad (DC) for compensation but all in vain and no compensation till date have been paid to him as the Government is playing and infringing the rights of the petitioners.

ANNOUNCED:

Machail Yatra in Kishtwar hills will start from August 1 with Chhari Mubarak in Jammu. Meanwhile, Police Chief of Jammu Zone, Rajesh Kumar has reviewed the security arrangements concerning the Machail Yatra.Meanwhile, the first time Kousar Nag Yatra is all set to start on July 29. The environmentalists have already expressed their concern over such Yatra in the fragile areas like Machail Kishtwar and Kousar Nag Shopian.
