DIRECTED: State High Court directed Crime Brach to register a case against Haq Nawaz Ahmed who has allegedly contracted marriage with a non Muslim girl and produced forged marriage documents in the court. Crime Branch is asked to proceed with a thorough investigation and find out who else is involved in the act.

REJECTED:
India rejected Pakistan’s proposal to move its heavy artillery and mortars away from LOC citing frequent ceasefire violations. India in turn asked Islamabad asked to come up with a strong nuclear policy.

OBJECTED:
  Mohammed Shafi Uri, an NC and Rajya Sabha member in view of Article 370 and special status of J&K objected implementation of Lokpal bill in J&K.  But Uri was not allowed to raise his voice in the house.

UNEARTHED: CBI unearthed a scam of Rs. three crores in Bank of Baroda. Three businessmen, Yashraj Singh, a resident of Pouni Chak, his son-in-law Surjeet Singh resident of Shastri Nagar and Mohammad Iqbal son of Mohammad Aziz, a resident of Jogi Gate, Jammu are involved in a scam. CBI ascertains involvement of some bankofficials and unnamed persons also.

DECIDED: Union Ministry decided to make the interlocutors report public after it is briefed to the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS). GoI has also decided to indulge in a dialogue with separatists.

REJECTED:
Local court has rejected the bail application of Shakeel Zahgeer who has allegedly misused the credit card pin code of other people for monetary benefits. The order says it would be immature to release the accused as he may reveal more information and may help police in investigating other complaints also.

PLANNED:
Government has planned to hold elections of chairman and deputy chairman of Legislative Council in March this year. The council will get its duly elected chairman after three years.

SLAPPED: Authorities slapped another PSA on Masrat Alam immediately after HC quashed his earlier PSA’s. He is now detained in Kathua jail with a fresh PSA and is arrested in connection with his alleged role in 2010 unrest.

EVACUATED:
JKP says it has evacuated 53 buildings including the Srinagar stadium from the security forces during last year to promote cultural and sporting activities in the state.

PLANNED:
State government has planned with the central government for coming up with 50 more police battalions in militancy and other trouble prone areas.

INAUGRATED:
Navin Agarwal, Director General of Prisons inaugurated a district jail in Anantnag. Establishment of this prison near the trial court is seen as a relief to police who otherwise had to escort inmates from a far off lodging place to court.

CLASHED:
Many youths were injured in the violent clashes which broke out as a reaction of the demolition drive of SMC in the old city. The drive includes demolition of residential houses and commercial establishment is in the view of forming a four laneDalgate Zakoora road widening project. The demolition squad of SMC was accompanied by police and CRPF.

FILED: CBI/ACB has filed a case against Lt Col, Lt Col S K Mahala, Major Rohit Saini, Captain Vikram Kundue, Nanak Singh Kohli, Director M/s V Spectra Communication System Pvt Ltd, Mathura under Sections 120-B read with Section 420 and 420-A and Section 5(2) read with 5(1)(d) of J&K Prevention of Corruption Act, 2006. The officers are involved in a purchase scam in which substandard equipments were purchased at exorbitant rates.

DIED: Ghulam Rasool Kochak, 82, a senior National Conference leader and a former MP passed away at his residence at Anantnag. Kochak was an associate of Quit Kashmir Movement. He is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter.

ISSUED: The state government has issued a notice to Punjab seeking Rs 8500 cr in compensation for the losses on sharing water and power generated from river Ravi. The coalition government has started a project of completing Ravi canal and getting state’s share of water and power from Punjab.
