ARRESTED: Vijay Kumar Bhagat resident of Matta, Kishtwar was arrested for allegedly being involved in raping his minor maid, 17. Bhagat working in a team of cyber crime expert at District police lines, Kishtwar is presently assisting the case of terror emails tracked to Kishtwar regarding Delhi blast. An FIR no: 276 U/S 376 RPC is lodged against the accused.

JAILED: AbidHussain, a 11th class student, one of the accused in September 7 Delhi blast is sent to Tihar jail in judicial custody as his police custody tenure was expired. Abid has rejected assistance of any lawyer to plead his case.

PASSED:
State Vigilance Commission Act, 2011 was unanimously passed in the State legislative Assembly. Abdul Rahim Rather, the finance minister moved the bill to be passed. The bill is said to improve the overall functioning of the Government.

POSTPONED:
SSRB postponed the interview for the posts of junior assistant in various departments after facing the criticism over one of the prerequisites. It asked the aspirants to bring their own typewriters for the interview.

PARALYZED:
MaalaBanu, mother of three from Garipora suffered serious injuries and burn marks after a low lying 33000 KV power transmission line shocked her. Her legs are ampulated and burn marks are all over her body. Her family alleges PDD’s negligence is responsible for her condition.

INDUCTED: Government inducted a multipurpose dredger costing Rs 4.20 crore in to river Jhelum at Khawajabagh, Baramulla. It is deployed for temporary diversion of water for the construction of lake embankments. Two more similar dredgers are awaited in Srinagar this December.

DESPATCHED: State government issued bills amounting to Rs 711crore to NHPC and PDC for using water in their power projects in the state. In same regard, state government has billed Rs 151.83 crore to NHPC and PDC early this year. The bills were released as per the provisions of J&K Water Resources Act-2010.

DECIDED: Army authorities decided to move the border fencing 1.5 km ahead towards LOC in view of rehabilitating people back in their villages living in Mendhar, Poonch.  As a part of the same proposal all border villages of Kirni in Poonch were successfully rehabilitated back to their villages.

REGISTERED:
Crime branch registered a case of cheating through emails. The complaint was filed by Romesh Kumar, resident of Keerian who was made to pay courier charges of the lottery money he never received. The names of senders of the email are Lorry White and Mark David.

PROTESTED: People in Rambagh protested against the death of a local girl, Shireen, 16, who allegedly was poisoned by her friends. The residents blocked the airport road and demanded action against the guilty.

AWARDED:
After 12 year trial, Manveer Singh was awarded imprisonment of five years and fine of Rs 5000. The guilty is charged with an attempt to murder case of Balwant Singh’s family who sustained pellet injuries of a 12 bore single barrel gun.

ARRESTED: The family of recently arrested Dawood Ahmed Zargar, a 10th class student says his arrest is baseless and they allege that he is arrested only for being related to the MushtaqZargar, the Al Umer chief. An FIR is also registered against Dawood.

SPENT: Rs 26 crore is spent on renovation and repair of official residences of ministers, legislators, bureaucrats and employees of J&K during 2009-2011, a written reply in Assembly revealed. It also revealed that Rs 5 crore was spent on TA/DA bills and the fuel charges of the ministers during last three years.

GIFTED: A company has gifted one of the Omar Abdullah’s cabinet ministers a car worth 50 lakh, a Jammu newspaper reported. The company is assigned to provide 2500 solar lights in each district of state.

BOOKED: BishanDass alias Bubby son of GirdhariLal, resident of Palatan, Akhnoor is booked under section 4 of Explosive Substances Act and an FIR no. 162/2011 is lodged against him. He is suspected of being involved in planting an IED at SatwariBelicharana road for the sake of reward.

ARRESTED: Wasim Ahmed, a Kashmiri Unani medical student studying in Bangladesh is arrested by the NIA for being allegedly involved in the September 7 Delhi blast. It is said that information about Wasim was given by Azhar Ali, member of Hizb who is in Kotbalwal jail since 2009.
