Peoples’ Conference (PC) chairman Sajad Gani Lone while reacting to the imposition of Governor’s rule in JK, said if parties failed to find common ground alliance, they should be accorded appropriate time to go for re-elections.

Talking to KNS, Sajad took dig at some mainstream parties, saying that the present deadlock is not due to the difference of ideologies but over the power sharing agreements.

“It is not the difference of principles but purely the fight for the chair due to which the deadlock continues and people suffer,” said Sajad adding that if parties fail to find a common ground to stitch an alliance for the formation of the next government, then appropriate time should be given so that re-elections are conducted in the state.

Sajad, whose party won two seats from North Kashmir’s Kupwara district, said that the people would suffer due to the imposition of governor’s rule in Jammu and Kashmir and mainstream camp must shun the “drama.”

“We have to take into account the aspirations of the people who in large numbers exercised their franchise during the recently conducted polls. We cannot undermine the people who voted during the polls,” he said.
