Complete shutdown is being observed in Nowhatta area of Old City in Srinagar against the killing of a local Hizb militant Sajad Ahmad Gilkar, a resident of Malaratta in Nowhatta.
Sajad was killed in an encounter with forces in Budgam district along with his two associates.
All shops and other business establishments are closed while a thin movement of traffic is on roads.
Witnesses said that paramilitary forces and police have been deployed at all the lanes and ny-lanes to prevent people from “disturbing law and order”.
