SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday claimed to have arrested a militant associate linked with proscribed outfit TRF (LeT) in Baramulla and recovered incriminating materials including ammunition from his possession.

A police spokesman in a statement said Baramulla Police along with Army and CRPF arrested a militant associate linked with proscribed outfit TRF (LeT) at Kitchama.

“He has been identified as Farooq Ahmad Malik son of Ghulam Mohd Malik resident of Kitchama, Baramulla,” said the spokesman.

“Incriminating materials including a Chinese Hand Grenade, 02 pistol magazines and 16 live pistol rounds were recovered from his possession,” he said.

“It is pertinent to mention here that the arrested militant associate was in close contact with an active militant namely Hilal Ahmad Sheikh resident of Shrakwara Kreeri and was providing the logistic and other material support to him,” he added.

“A case under relevant sections of law stands registered against him in Police Station Sheeri and investigation has been initiated,” said the spokesman.
