Kupwara: Nasir Sogami, Advisor to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, has addressed concerns over recent meetings between Omar Abdullah and ministers from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in New Delhi, clarifying that these gatherings are routine engagements. Sogami assured the public that the meetings were part of regular communication between state and central leaders, urging against any speculation.
“These meetings are just normal coordination between state and national leaders. There’s no need to read too much into them,” Sogami told reporters in Kupwara, as reported by the news agency KINS.
He reiterated the firm alliance between the Indian National Congress (INC) and the National Conference (NC) at both state and national levels, dismissing rumours of discord within the coalition. “The partnership between INC and the National Conference is solid and will continue to benefit the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” he affirmed.
Sogami also touched upon the issue of constitutional rights in Jammu and Kashmir, which many believe have been undermined in recent years. He called for patience, stating, “The process of restoring these rights will take time, but it will happen.”
During his visit to Kupwara, Sogami met with local party workers, encouraging them to stay dedicated to the government’s mission. “We are committed to the people of Jammu and Kashmir and will ensure that every citizen’s voice is heard,” he concluded.
