Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah Sunday directed for ensuring home delivery of LPG cylinders to the consumers in Srinagar city fixing March 31, 2013 as dead line. He also directed for initiating a time bound road map for putting in place this mechanism in towns and rural areas.

“LPG dealers should take immediate necessary action in this regard and give due publicity to the schedule of home delivery so that people are well aware about it and do not face any inconvenience”, he emphasized and said that the practice of delivering LPG cylinders to consumers on identified points in various areas should be done away with by ensuring home service by March 31. He asked the divisional administration to take all necessary measures in this regard and sensitize LPG dealers accordingly.

Chairing a high level meeting to review the status of restoration of essential services which were hit due to recent heavy snow fall, Omar also obtained details about the arrangements made by the administration for Eid-i-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) and Republic Day celebrations.

Omar Abdullah directed the administration for providing all facilities to the people on and during the days of Holy Eid-i-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW). “You should ensure adequate transport, electricity, water supply and essentials to the people”, he directed the administration.

The Chief Minister was given full account of the status of restoration of power and water supply, road clearance, stock and supply of essentials and preparedness of the administration to face eventualities on account of weather vagaries and heavy snow fall.

Responding to issues relating to the coaching centres brought to his notice in the meeting, Omar said that while sensitizing the coaching centres about fulfilling legal requirements for registrations, the education of the students should not get hampered. He said the owners of coaching centres should be made fully aware of the requirements they are required to fulfill under the law without telling upon the education of students.
